Burwood Heights

We meet on the third (3rd) Saturday of the month

from February through to November

at 2:30pm until 4:30pm (unless advised otherwise)

We meet at the Fellowship room, Burwood Heights Uniting Church, at

347 Blackburn Road, East Burwood (Cnr Burwood Hwy & Blackburn Rd)

What do we do?

Popular on-site activities have included:

‘Show ‘n Tell’ &  Holiday news, and a Home Theatre day and Michael the Balloonologist Footy Day & Games (in September, of course!) and a visit from ‘Harry & Barry’ and Ringwood Folk Band.  Added to all that, there are likely to be visits from Andrew Wegener and the Australian Wildlife Display, the RSPCA or Lost Dogs Home. or an SES crew (or related services) and maybe even from the ‘The Horn Blowers’!   Almost certainly there’ll be some Craft and Cooking and even Gardening.

There’ll be time for some devotional activity with favourite hymns, and pastoral care is an important segment each month.

Of course, there’s always a ‘Surprise Day’(To Be Advised, of course!)

And we do have some activities away from our usual meeting venue, with off-site outings; for example in February (for ‘New Year & Planning’ at ‘Madeleines @ Jells’ Park, and our November Birthday and Early Christmas event (sometimes at ‘The Burvale’).

October Bus Trips have included visits to the Aquarium, to Science Works and also to the Melbourne Zoo, the Werribee Zoo, Gumbaya Park, and even to Puffing Billy.

There is an Outreach component every year, too; things like a ‘Christmas in July’ event which features ‘Gifts for the Empty Christmas Tree’, and another example would be our support for the East Burwood Centre for needy families.

How do we fund all this activity? Currently, members pay $3 per month, and occasionally we benefit from donors wishing to remain anonymous.

You can expect to find……..A happy team of volunteers who always welcomes new members and their families, carers and friends at our gatherings.
